In conjunction with the National School Bus Safety Week the Arkansas Department of Education office of School Transportation is requesting that every school district participate in a one day “Stop Arm Violation Survey." This is a survey of the number of vehicles passing a stopped school bus displaying flashing red lights. The survey is attached and should be conducted on Wednesday, October 20, 2004. All daily routes should be included. To be included in the summary, survey results must be returned no later than 12:00 noon Friday, October 22, 2004 by fax (501-682-6308) or e-mail (tchong@arkedu.k12.ar.us). Results will consist of a total number of violations for morning and afternoon routes.
In addition, to promote school bus safety to all Arkansans, a flyer is attached to be reproduced and distributed. The flyer can be printed in color or black and white.
