Now Available: Arkansas Arts Council's Fiscal Year 2006 Arts in Education Grant Applications.

Schools, institutions, and non-profit or governmental organizations are eligible to apply. Applications are now available for programs that will occur between July 1, 2005, and June 30, 2006. The application deadline is Friday, January 28, 2005.

Arts in Education (AIE) In-School Residency grants of up to $40,000, requiring a one-to-one cash match, will be awarded for the placement of professional artists-in-residencies at specific school sites or in conjunction with non-profit organizations to share art form, and relate it to other K-12 curriculum areas for in-school programs. Length of residencies may be from ten days to ten months.

AIE After-School/Summer Residency grants of up to $10,000, requiring a one-to-one cash match, will be awarded to eligible organizations that have been involved in K-12 youth programming for a minimum of three years to provide artist residencies for after school and summer programs. Length of residencies may be from ten days to ten months.

Artists listed in the AIE Artist Roster must be selected for the above grant programs, unless previous arrangements have been made with the Arkansas Arts Council. Artists are selected by review panels based on the quality of work, skills, experience communicating in educational settings, and understanding of curriculum-based learning through the arts.

AIE Arts Curriculum Project grants of up to $10,000, requiring a one-to-one cash match, will be awarded to help support special projects that advance the goal of making the arts a basic part of education. Project activities may serve K-12 students directly or indirectly, but are not residency programs. Outside consultants may be sought for special expertise. Length of projects may be from one day to one year.
