The Distance Learning Workshop entitled: Offer Versus Serve in the Child Nutrition Program or "Why Did My Child Only Get Applesauce and French Fries at Lunch?" will be held on April 7, 2005. The workshop will be offered from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm and will be the primary training on USDA's New Offer Versus Serve materials. Activities will include hands-on examples and discussion. Time will be allowed for a question and answer session. This training session will address how these materials can be used to train cafeteria workers, school personnel, and students.
The educational cooperatives that will be hosting the training sessions are listed on the registration form. The registration form has been added as an attachment to this memo. All participants must register with the Child Nutrition Office. Be sure to indicate the educational cooperative location each participant will attend. The workshop will be open to all child nutrition directors or any other people responsible for planning, preparing, and serving menus. The registration fee is $10.00 for each participant.
Registration deadline for the workshop is April 1, 2005. All materials for registered participants will be mailed after the registration deadline to each participant at the address indicated on the registration form.
The training will be cancelled at any site, which does not have a registered participant by the deadline. Please copy and complete a separate registration form for each participant.
