The Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) is currently mailing to district superintendents school specific passwords to use with accessing the schools’ BMI Child Health Reports. The superintendent will receive a memo for each specific school in the district with that school’s password. The password will allow access to a CD, which holds the BMI Child Health Reports for that specific school, and an EXCEL spread sheet for the school nurse which gives the individual student data. The CD will be delivered to the school nurse by the Community Health nurse.
Following shortly after the passwords, ACHI will send to the Community Health nurses the CD’s with the child health reports. The Community Health nurses will deliver the CD’s to the school nurse. The school nurse will get the password for each school from the superintendent so that reports can be generated.
The Child Health Reports will be in a PDF file that can be printed by the school. There will be both English and Spanish versions. The program will default to Spanish if the child’s record indicates that is the first language.
This will be the second year for the BMI Child Health Reports. The state is transitioning to where the entire process will be handled by the Department of Education and the school districts with support from the Department of Health. Individual school and student data will continue to be reported to ACHI for longitudinal tracking and state reporting.
