The United States Department of Education has released a brochure entitled "Character Education-Our Shared Responsibility", which describes its support for character education. The brochure is meant to be a resource to schools in creating an environment where students feel safe and experience mutual respect - an environment that will make academic achievement possible.
The brochure also describes the importance for parents, educators, and the community to accept responsibility to develop strong character in youth, as well as possibilities for implementation of character education programs.
