Act 1437 of 2005 requires school districts to amend anti-bullying policies to provide procedures requiring that the person or persons who file a complaint will not be subject to retaliation or reprisal in any form, and to prohibit bullying while in school, on school property, in school vehicles, on school buses, at designated school bus stops, at school-sponsored activities, or at school sanctioned events. These amendments should become part of the district’s “Student Handbooks” and “School Personnel Policy Handbooks” that are mailed by October 15th of each year to the Arkansas Department of Education. Policies are to be provided to parents, students, school volunteers and employees each year

A copy of Act 1437 of 2005 is attached and will become effective on August 12, 2005.
