As noted on Monday, May 24, 2005, minor grammatical errors were found in the original Child Health Reports for the body mass index (BMI) assessments. These reports were distributed to school districts on CDs by the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI). ACHI has taken immediate action to correct the grammatical errors. Please note the following important points regarding original reports sent to schools and corrected reports that will soon be available.

ORIGINAL REPORTS (sent to schools on CD):

· The BMI results in the original Child Health Reports received by schools are accurate.
· Each child’s obesity risk is correctly classified according to the BMI assessments and data reported to ACHI.
· Excel spreadsheets sent to schools on CDs are also correct.
· The errors present in the original reports were grammatical only. Therefore, if schools have already distributed reports to parents, then they do not necessarily need to re-send the reports.

REPLACEMENT REPORTS (to be made available via the web):

· Grammatical errors are currently being corrected by ACHI’s subcontractor.
· Replacement versions of Child Health Reports will be available as PDF files for schools to download and print by 8:00 am on Tuesday, May 31.
· To access the PDF files, a district will need to go to ACHI’s web site (www.achi.net) and follow the instructions posted.
· Instructions for printing student letters will be posted on ACHI’s web site. Superintendents and schools who still have the original passwords may access these replacement reports beginning Tuesday, May 31.
· Instructions will also be sent by ACHI through U.S. mail to all public school superintendents; passwords will be included in these letters. The passwords being mailed are the same as the original passwords sent by ACHI earlier this year.
· If letters to parents have already been mailed, schools may decide whether or not to re-send Child Health Reports. However, as noted above, children’s BMI results and obesity risk classifications in the original reports are correct.

ACHI sincerely regrets any inconvenience this has caused.
