Pursuant to Arkansas Code Annotated § 25-15-201 et seq., notice is hereby given that the Arkansas State Board of Education and the Arkansas Department of Education is considering the promulgation of new rules and proposed revisions and repeals to current rules. Public hearings will be held on July 6-7, 2005 in the Auditorium of the Arkansas Department of Education at #4 Capitol Mall, Little Rock, AR 72201at the following times:
* Wednesday, July 6, 2005: 9:00 a.m. Proposed Revisions to Rules Governing Granting a Waiver of the Earnings Limitation to a Member of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement system;
* 10:30 a.m. Proposed Revisions to Rules Governing Highly Qualified Teachers Pursuant to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001;
* 1:00 p.m. Proposed Rules Governing Arkansas Educational Financial Accounting and Reporting and Training System;
* 2:00 Proposed Repeal of Rules Governing Educational Financial Accounting and Reporting; and Proposed Repeal of Rules Governing a Uniform Budget and Accounting System.
* Thursday, July 7, 2005: 9:00 a.m. Proposed Rules Governing the Public Education Salvage Computer Loan Program;
* 10:00 a.m. Proposed Revisions to Rules Governing Charter Schools;
* 11:00 a.m. Proposed Revisions to Rules Governing Administrative Consolidation or Annexation of Public School Districts and Boards of Directors of Local School Districts.

Written comments should be mailed to the Arkansas Department of Education, Office of Legal Counsel, #4 Capitol Mall, Room 404-A, Little Rock, AR 72201 by July 18, 2005.
