The Arkansas Department of Education requires all public school districts and open enrollment charter schools to submit a revised local district technology plan in order to comply with the No Child Left Behind legislation and E-Rate application requirements. The Department of Information Systems files E-Rate applications on behalf of all public schools and open enrollment charter schools in the State of Arkansas; therefore, in order to be eligible for E-Rate discounts, all districts and open enrollment charter schools are required by the Schools and Libraries Division to have an approved technology plan.
The plan should be submitted to the Department between March 1, 2006 and March 31, 2006. Each plan will be reviewed for approval based on the criteria and standards outlined in the attached technology guidelines document. The Department will provide a document to districts to certify that plans have been approved in a manner consistent with the criteria listed.
