Commissioner’s Memo IT-05-009 listed the 2005-2006 Required Administrative Reports. The 2004 - 2005 Expenditure Reports for National School Lunch Act (NSLA), Alternate Learning Environment (ALE), English Language Learners (ELL), and Professional Development were due August 15, 2005. Due to this late notice, the Department will not require districts to submit the ALE, ELL, and Professional Development reports. Those expenditures will be pulled from the district’s Cycle 1 submission.
The NSLA Expenditures report is now due September 1, 2005.
The attached NSLA Expenditures Report requires the revenues and expenditure data be accounted for as described in the Rules Governing the Distribution of Student Special Needs for School Year 2004-2005 and Additional Teacher Pay, Section 6.00. These Rules are available at: http://arkedu.state.ar.us/rules/pdf/current_rules/Act%2059%20Rule%20Prime%20Time.pdf
All NSLA funds should be accounted for either in the expenditure categories allowed by the Rules, in transfers, or in balances. The revenues, expenditures, and balances should equal the data reported in the Cycle 1 submission. Districts are encouraged to check for this prior to submitting the 2004-2005 NSLA Expenditure Report.
Although the Department has promulgated a new version of this Rule, for purposes of the 2004-2005 NSLA Expenditure Report districts should be sure to use the Rules for school year 2004-2005.
