Pursuant to the Arkansas Code Annotated §25-15-201 et seq., notice is hereby given that the Arkansas State Board of Education and the Arkansas Department of Education are considering promulgation of proposed revisions and repeals to current Rules. Act 2152 of the 85th Arkansas General Assembly allowed a high school course offered under the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program to be treated the same as an Advanced Placement (AP) course. Therefore, amendments to the Advanced Placement Incentive Rule and the Rule Governing Uniform Grading Scale for Public Secondary Schools are presented for public comment. At the same time, the Rule Governing Advanced Placement Courses in the Four Core Areas in High School is proposed to be repealed and incorporated into the AP/IB Incentive Rule.
A public hearing will be held on these proposed revisions and repealed Rule on Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Arkansas Department of Education, #4 Capitol Mall, Little Rock, AR 72201. Written comments should be mailed to the Arkansas Department of Education, Office of Legal Counsel, Room 404-A, #4 Capitol Mall, Little Rock, AR 72201 by September 21, 2005.
