Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Special Education Procedural Requirements and Program Standards, Section 19.00, include criteria and guidelines for the provision and payment of Extended School Year (ESY) services to students with disabilities. Because federal monitors found the Arkansas Special Education Program out of compliance in the appropriate identification and provision of Extended School Year services to students with disabilities, the level of payment for these direct services to eligible students with disabilities is being increased.
ESY, Part Two covers the period of time from July 1, 2005 to the beginning of the 2005-2006 school year. The payment for the Part Two period will be $74 per student per day, calculated on the basis of the allocation methodology described in Section 19.00.
ESY, Part Two payment requests will be filed on the Arkansas Department of Education Special Education website, http://arksped.k12.ar.us, beginning August 29, 2005, through September 30, 2005. This secure filing site is accessed under the Finance link after logging into MySped Resource.
