The Arkansas Medicaid Administrative Claiming (ARMAC) Program for Medicaid outreach and administrative claiming in the schools is fully operational for the 2005-2006 school year. ARMAC will allow public education agencies the opportunity to receive reimbursement for the costs associated with certain school-based administrative activities that directly support the Arkansas Medicaid program. For example, the ARKids First informational program, required by Act 882 of the 2005 Regular Session, can be accomplished through ARMAC.
ARMAC is based on a paperless, automated time study that can be accomplished in minimal time by school staff selected through a quarterly random sampling methodology. There is no cash match associated with ARMAC; the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will certify the quarterly match on behalf of each participating district on the basis of the district’s quarterly cost pool. School districts and co-ops enrolled in the ARMAC program by November 1, 2005, can anticipate reimbursements by March 1, 2006.
