The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center, in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education- Special Education, will be offering regional professional development on the topic of Computer Access during the 2005-2006 school year. This workshop is intended for special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, related services providers, paraprofessionals, and informational technology staff.
Students with disabilities require access to the general curriculum but, sometimes, computer software and/or hardware, classroom computer stations and computer labs are not accessible for all students. This workshop is designed to assist staff in assessing students’ computer access needs and making the appropriate accommodations to input, processing and output necessary to engage students with a diverse set of needs in meaningful instruction. Participants will learn to meet the assistive technology considerations in the individualized education program (IEP) through a structured problem solving process.
The format for this workshop is hands-on, computer lab oriented, and seating is limited. There is a $50 per person fee.
