On August 8, 2005, the State Board of Education approved revisions to the Rules Governing Highly Qualified Teachers. On September 6, 2005, these Rules were reviewed by the Legislative Review Committee and are now approved for use.
Attached to this memo are:
(1) a clean copy of the revised Highly Qualified Teacher Rules. These revised Rules include the Multi-Subject HOUSSE (Appendix B) which may be used by teachers teaching multiple subjects in an Alternative Learning Environment, or in Special Education Programs, or at Juvenile Detention / Residential Centers,
(2) the corrected Single-Subject HQT Designation Form (3.B. “veteran” deleted), and
(3) the new Multi-Subject HQT Designation Form.
