The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards federal candidate subsidy funding is available to Arkansas teachers and counselors choosing to pursue National Board Certification. Candidates receiving a funding grant will pay only one-half of the $2,300 National Board application fee while the grant will pay the other half.
Candidates must complete and fax the Candidate Subsidy Funding Application (see attachment) to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards program advisor at the Arkansas Department of Education. The application must be received by Monday, October 31, 2005. Grants are limited however, and will only be available to approximately 100 candidates on a first-come first-served basis.
Once the completed Candidate Subsidy Funding Application is received by the Department, the National Board candidate will be sent an email with information and instructions regarding how to proceed.
The National Board candidate is required to pay $1,150 (half the fee) to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards by Friday, November 4, 2005, in order to receive the federal candidate subsidy funding grant.
