Arkansas Reading First Grant Application
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will host a teleconference Friday, December 2, 2005, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am for the purpose of providing information regarding the Arkansas Reading First grant competition. The teleconference will provide information on eligibility criteria, responsibilities of the grantees, requirements of the grant, and the application process for the project. The teleconference will be held at regional educational service cooperatives, the ADE Maumelle training site, and the Metropolitan Vo-Tech High School.
All eligible schools planning to apply for Reading First funds should participate in the teleconference. Attendees should include the district superintendent or central office designee and the principal of each school intending to apply. Arkansas Reading First schools funded in the initial competition that wish to reapply for the second round of funding should attend the teleconference.
The Arkansas Reading First grant application package is available on the ADE Website at http://arkedu.state.ar.us/nochild/reading_first_app.html. Participants should bring a copy of the application to the teleconference. The deadline for making application is March 10, 2006.
