Under Title II of No Child Left Behind, the Department of Education will administer a competitive grant program to establish mathematics and/or science partnerships between an institution of higher education and middle schools or high schools in need of improvement. Other service providers such as the mathematics specialists, regional service centers, and university math/science centers may also share in the partnership. A Request For Proposals (RFP) outlining the requirements of the program along with application information is attached.
Proposals are due on or before the close of business (4:30 p.m.) on Monday, April 10, 2006. Questions about the RFP and eligible applicants may be directed to Ms. Judy Trowell (jtrowell@arkedu.k12.ar.us or jtrowell@adhe.arknet.edu).
A technical assistance session for prospective applicants will be held for prospective applicants on Friday, February 17, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Arkansas Department of Education Building, #4 State Capitol Mall, Little Rock. This session will include an overview of the requirements of the RFP to be followed by a question and answer session.
