REGISTRATION DEADLINES FOR NEW VENDORS:
Traveler registrations need to be updated for two new vendors in October 2006. Registration files will be sent to the new vendors in June. All schools need to update registration files by accessing the Participant Roster on the Traveler page: http://www.asl.lib.ar.us/traveler/travRegistration.htm
Please update all information: the phone number, fax number and e-mail. There are three registration deadlines before the information is sent to the vendor:
April 14, May 19, and June 16, 2006.
PROJECT FUNDING AND FUTURE VENDORS:
The Traveler Project Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funded project sponsored by the Arkansas State Library, provides online magazine and research databases free to the public, school, and academic libraries in Arkansas. The Arkansas State Library and the Arkansas Department of Education also provide full-text encyclopedias for all of the state’s school libraries.
EBSCO, Gale Discovering Collection, New Book of Knowledge and OCLC FirstSearch will be renewed, and there will be two new vendors: Encyclopedia Britannica and NetLibrary. To learn more about these products, visit the following webpage: http://www.asl.lib.ar.us/traveler/databases FY06_07.htm
Information about the Traveler Project, including the remote access codes, should be made available and accessible to next year’s personnel.
