The Easter Seals Arkansas, Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education, will be offering four (4) regional professional development workshops during June and July of 2006 entitled, “Documenting Progress and Inventory Tracking of Assistive Technology in Schools,” and “Accommodations and Assistive Technology (AT) for Students with Down's Syndrome.”
The first workshop “Documenting Progress and Inventory Tracking of Assistive Technology in Schools” is designed to assist administrators, therapists and teachers in management of AT inventory and collecting data that is meaningful and scientifically relevant to AT decision making. This workshop consists of a hands-on and demonstration format and will be held in a computer lab setting. It has a $40 per person fee for participation.
The second workshop “Accommodations and Assistive Technology (AT) for Students with Down's Syndrome” is designed to carefully examine this disability and the accommodations and assistive technology that research has identified as being effective with this population. This workshop consists of large group discussion and demonstration with a $50 per person fee for participation.
