The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education, Special Education, will offer professional development on the topic of Alternate Portfolio Assessment. This workshop is intended for special education teachers, speech language pathologists, related services providers, paraprofessionals, testing coordinators, and administrators. This training will focus on how to develop high-quality, authentic portfolios for grades 3-8, 9th grade math, and 11th grade literacy. During this training, participants will learn how to link appropriate curriculum to the Arkansas State Frameworks in the content areas of Language Arts, Math, and Science, as well as tying this into the alternate portfolios. This workshop will be a combination of demonstration and hands-on activities.
Each participant will receive an extremely detailed product with activity ideas linked to the appropriate standard and student learning expectations. Worksheets that can be used with students in the alternate assessment portfolio will also be included with this workshop.
Workshop dates and locations are attached. The workshops will be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Seating is limited. There is a $75 per person fee.
