The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) and the State Mathematics Specialists announce the opportunity for teachers and administrators in grades K-8 to participate in a nationally recognized professional development seminar with a focus on improving mathematics instruction and student achievement. Special grade-level sessions are designed to help teachers focus on the mathematics skills and concepts appropriate for the students through the lens of literature. The course is designed for elementary and middle level classroom teachers, Title I teachers, math coaches or specialists, resource or special educators, and mathematics coordinators.
The Math and Literature course will be offered July 24-28, 2006. All sessions will be held at Ridge Road Middle School in North Little Rock School District.
