The Arkansas Accountability Workbook for Determining Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) includes a definition for New School that was approved by the US Department of Education. The definition of a new school can be found in the Workbook located on the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) web or in the attachment to this Commissioner’s Memo.
Schools eligible for a New School designation should complete the attached Re-Configured Schools form and fax to Janinne Riggs at 501-682-5756 by Monday, July 31, 2006. The form can also be included as part of the appeal process that will follow the release of the school improvement reports.
