Act 2144 was passed during the regular legislative session of the 85th Arkansas General Assembly of 2005. Act 2144 “requires notification of affected school districts of all planning, development, or redevelopment activity within the municipality or county”. The Act further states that “planning within the county or municipality must take into consideration the local school district boundaries and the planning agency is required to initiate the contact with the school districts to ensure access to the plan”.
Districts are directed to Ark.Code Ann. Sec. 14-17-206, which has been amended to reflect Act 2144.
