On October 16 and 17, 2006, the Special Education Unit will sponsor a Medicaid In The Schools (MITS) Summit at the Wyndham Hotel, 2 Riverfront Place, North Little Rock, AR. The Medicaid In The Schools Program of the Special Education Unit is dedicated to enhancing the overall performance of public education agency participation in Medicaid related activities.

The MITS Summit will afford public education agencies the opportunity to come together to learn the latest information for the many different Medicaid-billable services available in the schools. The Summit will include topical sessions related to:

New funding opportunities through Medicaid reimbursable services;
Strategies to increase public education agency reimbursement performance; OT/PT/SLP medical necessity and billing trainings;
Programmatic updates and data analysis; and, Rules, regulations, and technical assistance for school-based services.

The targeted audience for the Summit includes school-based therapy staff, billing clerks, special education supervisors, nurses, and other staff involved with student health related services. Please view the attachment for the MITS Summit schedule and registration information.
