The Office of Coordinated School Health, within the Arkansas Department of Education, is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Conference on Winning Against Childhood Obesity: Implementing School-Based Environmental and Policy Changes to Reduce Childhood Obesity. The conference will be held on Monday, October 2, 2006, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at the C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center, # 1, Four-H Way, Little Rock, AR 72223. The purpose of the conference is to clarify the state and federally mandated regulations that relate to school-based wellness programs, and to provide schools with a venue to network and discuss resources and strategies that lead to a reduction in childhood obesity.
