The Arkansas Conference on Teaching (ACT) will be held November 2-3, 2006, at the Little Rock Statehouse Convention Center and Peabody Hotel. The ACT Conference is a curriculum conference for elementary, secondary, and university teachers. The 2006 theme for the conference is “Inspiring Lifelong Learners.” Sessions and workshops will provide content and instructional strategies in mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts content areas. The conference is sponsored by the following professional organizations: Arkansas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM), Arkansas Science Teachers Association (ASTA), Arkansas Council for the Social Studies (ACSS), and Arkansas Council of Teachers of Language Arts (ACTELA). In addition to sessions and short courses, each professional organization will sponsor a luncheon featuring a nationally recognized speaker in the respective discipline.
Cost for conference registration is $60 for two days or $40 for one day. Conference sessions will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2006, and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006.
