“Arkansas Rockefeller” Educational Media and Teacher's Guide Package
Recently, the “Arkansas Rockefeller” documentary video and teacher’s guide were distributed to Arkansas school libraries. These educational materials are a gift from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation to students and teachers throughout Arkansas.
This educational media package was designed to meet the guidelines and mandate of the Arkansas Social Studies Curriculum Framework and the Arkansas History Curriculum Framework for grades 5 through 12. The DVD focuses on the life and times of Winthrop Rockefeller – cattle rancher, former governor of Arkansas, and philanthropist – whose legacy of change continues to help shape the direction and dreams of all Arkansans. While the video focuses on Winthrop Rockefeller’s life in state service, the program can also be used by teachers to provide students with insights into issues such as politics, civil action and participation, philanthropy, and cultural diversity.
