The Professional Licensure Unit has just completed a second round of automatic renewals for the teachers with a license expiring December 31, 2006. Licenses are being printed and will be mailed to school districts by mid-January.
Districts need to check the teacher licensure database to see if all teachers eligible for automatic renewal have been renewed. This may be done by going to the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) website, clicking on teachers, clicking on licensure, clicking on Arkansas teacher licensure database and following instructions.
Any teachers that were not renewed in this second round, will need to submit an application for the renewal of the teaching license to the Professional Licensure Unit, attaching documentation of having met the experience and professional development requirement for the 2005-2006 school year.
A provisional teaching license will be available for the teachers that may not have met all general renewal requirements.
