The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will host an Arkansas Education Forum on Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16, 2007, on the Mid-South Community College campus in West Memphis, to address the critical need for teachers and the economic impact of education in the Arkansas Delta. Organized events include:
District Recruitment Model Workshop
Thursday, February 15, 2007, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This workshop will provide recruiters from High Priority school districts with resources and instruction on best practices and policies in recruiting highly qualified teachers for the schools.
Education Partners Reception
Thursday, February 15, 2007, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
This event will provide an opportunity for local Eastern Arkansas educators and school district leaders to meet with business, civic and community members and engage in partnerships in education. The topic will center on the education crisis and the economic impact in Eastern Arkansas, and how the business community can assist in meeting the needs of local school districts and schools of education.
Education Career Fair
Friday, February 16, 2007, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This event is designed to assist Eastern Arkansas’ High Priority school districts in the recruitment of licensed teachers and administrators for hard-to-fill vacancies, and to provide information to persons interested in careers in education in Southeast Arkansas.
