The United States Department of Education has announced the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the 2007 Early Reading First Program. The Early Reading First Program is part of the President’s “Good Start, Grow Smart” Initiative and is designed to transform existing early education programs into centers of excellence that provide high quality, early education to young children, especially children from low-income families. The pre-application deadline is February 21, 2007, and complete applications are due May 29, 2007.
