The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center (TCC), in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), will be offering professional development on the topic of Alternate Portfolio Assessment. This workshop is intended for special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, related services providers, paraprofessionals, testing coordinators, and administrators. This training will focus on how to develop high-quality, authentic portfolios for grades 3-8, 9th grade math, 10th grade science, and 11th grade literacy. During this training, participants will learn how to create a strong body of portfolio evidence while linking classroom activities to the Arkansas State Frameworks. This workshop will cover some of the basic mechanics of how to put together an alternate portfolio assessment, but it is not intended to be a beginner portfolio workshop. The workshop is recommended for teachers that have some experience in developing an Alternate Portfolio Assessment. This workshop will be a combination of demonstration and hands-on activities.
Please note that this is an intermediate portfolio workshop. This workshop is for teachers that are comfortable with the basic portfolio process.
Workshop dates and locations are attached. The workshop will be from 9am to 3pm. Seating is limited. There is a $75 per person fee.
