Act 718 of 2007 amends Ark. Code Ann. 6-19-110(C) to simplify the reporting of any violations of a motor vehicle passing a stopped school bus loading or unloading students.
Your attention is directed to paragraph (c)(1), which requires;
1) The driver of a school bus report the license plate number, issuing state (if different than Arkansas), and a brief description of the vehicle to the superintendent within two hours after the end of a driver's shift for that period of the day for any violation of a motor vehicle that passes a school bus while it is stopped.
2) Requires the Superintendent of the school district to promptly report this information to the local prosecuting attorney.
3) Further requires the local prosecuting attorney to provide to the Superintendent the outcome of the report, and for the Superintendent to notify the driver of the outcome of the report.
Commissioner Memo DIR-05-016, dated 5/11/2005 is rescinded.
