Act 724 of the 2007 regular session amended Ark. Code Ann. § 6-11-128. This act establishes new reporting requirements for Arkansas public school districts.
Beginning in 2007-2008, the Department shall collect full time equivalents and average teacher’s salaries by July 31 of each year.
Actual revenue and expenditure data for the previous year shall be collected no later than August 31 of each year.
Districts are required to file the current year budgets by September 30 of each year.
The Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) shall have the programs necessary to collect all the data described above no less than thirty days prior to the date public school districts are required to submit the data.
Beginning in 2008-2009, the Department shall release monthly selected financial and student data submitted for the previous month. The Department and the Legislature shall determine the financial and student data to be released monthly.
The selected data shall be made available to the Legislature through the APSCN data warehouse by the tenth business day of each month.
Districts are requested to note that this means all monthly accounting activities are to be completed before the tenth of each month.
