Act 727 of 2007 amends Ark. Code Ann. § 6-20-2502 changing the definition of Academic Facilities Wealth Index.
The Act adds a new subsection (1)(B) which reads: “ Every school district with a wealth index of 1.00 or greater will be funded at the same level as the first school district with a wealth index below 1.00, except that funding under this subdivision (1)(B) will not exceed the amount of funding provided for a wealth index of nine hundred ninety-five thousandths, which is (.995).”
The Academic Facilities Wealth Index is used to determine the state and school district’s share of financial participation in local academic facilities projects under the Partnership and Catastrophic Programs administered by the Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation for all state school districts.
