Obtain State and FBI Criminal Background Check Results On-line within Five(5)Business Days!

Districts may sign up now for on-line criminal background checks and eliminate the paper process and time delays. The results will be received electronically from State Police and FBI fingerprint checks.

The web address is: www.arkansas.gov/criminal

The on-line service is available for background checks required to be conducted through Arkansas State Police for the Department of Education.

The Arkansas State Police offers Arkansas criminal history records on-line. FBI results are also available for those using the on-line system.

Each school district will register with the Information Network of Arkansas (INA) (Arkansas.gov). The annual fee for this service is waived for school districts. Upon approval of the registration, the district is allowed to log onto the secure website and submit any and all requests for criminal background checks. The response will be directed electronically to the Arkansas Department of Education. The Department will provide a “qualified” or “not qualified” status on results of the state check and then those results will be instantly returned to the District. Results for FBI checks are typically completed within five (5) business days and will also be returned on-line.

Faster Response Time:
Under the on-line system, the Arkansas State Police report is generally returned to the Department instantaneously. This will allow the Department to establish and verify the qualification status expediting this process. FBI fingerprint check results will also be returned electronically within five (5) business days of receiving the FBI results.

Price break for going On-line: On-line $20 – Paper $23:
Under the on-line system, Districts will pay $20.00 per record check request. With the current paper system, Districts pay $23.00 per record check. The annual registration fee with Information Network of Arkansas (INA) of $75.00 is waived for school districts.

Sex Offender and Pending Arrest Information Included:
Under the on-line system, a report of Arkansas felony and misdemeanor convictions and a report of pending Arkansas felony arrests (those that have not yet gone to court) plus information on whether the applicant is a registered sex offender in Arkansas (All sex offenders: levels one through four) will be included.

Eliminate Paper Process:
When using the on-line system, the release will not be notarized and the Districts must keep the release request on file with the applicant's/employee’s signature. (This process will eliminate the previously used pink and blue forms.)

Set Up Monthly Billing:
Under the on-line system, Districts may pay a monthly bill with an electronic debit to the District's account or the District may elect to receive a monthly invoice. The billing format will be set up through the Information Network of Arkansas (INA) at the time the District registers for service. Again, the annual registration fee with INA of $75.00 is waived for school districts.

For the nationwide check, the FBI fingerprint card will still be submitted to the Arkansas State Police. Districts request the FBI check on-line along with the State Police check. Districts do not have to submit the twenty-four dollars ($24.00)separately to state police. INA will bill the District monthly for state and FBI criminal background checks requested on-line.
