Proposed changes to the Rules Governing the Addition of Areas of Licensure or Endorsement received final approval from the State Board of Education at the June 11, 2007, meeting.
Pay particular attention to Section 4.04 - 4.04.3.4. of this rule. This is a new section addressing the annual yearly progress that must be met and documented for teachers that have been employed out-of-area under an Additional Licensure Plan (ALP). This annual yearly progress must be met and documented in order for the waiver request (ACT 1623) to be approved for the following year.
Also, pay attention to Section 4.07- 4.07.1. of this rule. This is also a new section of the rule that replaces the previous policy of allowing K-12 added endorsement areas such as ESL, G/T, Reading, Counselor, Librarian, etc., to be used as a platform for testing out of other areas and levels of licensure.
A copy of these rules has been provided as an attachment.
