Act 989 of the regular session of 2007 amended Arkansas Code Ann. § 6-20-2504 dealing with the Academic Facilities Immediate Repair Program administered by the Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation. This Act established additional criteria for the administration of this program. Your attention is specifically directed to paragraph 3 below;

1. Within 30 days after the completion of all approved Immediate Repair Projects the Division shall certify to the Commission that all approved immediate repair projects have been completed and all approved state financial participation under this section has been distributed,
2. Upon acceptance by the Commission of the Division’s certification, the Academic Facilities Immediate Repair Program will expire,
3. An approved project that is not verified as being complete by January 1, 2008, shall be declared cancelled by the commission and program funds shall be reallocated as the commission directs.

School districts are reminded of the project completion procedures as outlined in the “Procedures and Requirements” section under the Immediate Repair Program Guidelines found on the Division web site: http://www.arkansasfacilities.com
