The Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN) will be implementing the upgraded software for Cognos (Cognos 8) August 1, 2007. On August 1, 2007, individuals with Cognos licenses will be able to access Cognos 8 through the APSCN website at www.k12.ar.us. Select the Cognos menu and enter the personal existing user ID and password. For a limited time participants will be able to also access the old version of Cognos software (CRN) using the normal login procedure.
The authorized users and security settings were based on the information provided by school districts during February and March 2007. This was in response to a letter mailed to all superintendents and co-op directors January 31, 2007. If any of this information needs to be updated, please access the APSCN website (www.k12.ar.us), click on the “APSCN” drop-down menu, and select “Forms.” From the items listed on that page, choose the correct form, complete it and return it to the address shown on the form. Directions for moving reports from “My Folders” in CRN to Cognos 8 will also be located on the same “Forms” page located under the APSCN Menu. It is possible that some reports created with CRN will not run in Cognos 8 without making some modifications. If this occurs, the expedient course of action may be to re-build the report using Cognos 8. Otherwise, call the APSCN Help Desk at 800-435-7989.
