The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) will host a video conference Friday, August 10, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for the purpose of discussing the 2007 school improvement reports based on the 2006-2007 state assessments.
The ADE was approved by the US Department of Education to implement a growth model as part of the adequate yearly progress system. This presentation will discuss the approved growth model, the design of the school improvement reports and general issues related to the AYP process. In addition, directions on the AYP appeal process will be outlined.
This session is for principals, superintendents, federal coordinators, testing coordinators or others involved with the AYP process at the local level.
The ADE is also conducting a video conference training that morning for administering the Qualls Early Learning Inventory (QELI). Districts might consider selecting individuals who can attend both sessions.
Please register with the area cooperative for participating in the adequate yearly progress video conference.
