Educational Services for the Visually Impaired, in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit, will offer professional development in working with students with visual impairments. The workshop titled “Tools in the Toolbox,” tools that teachers need to promote success for students with visual impairments, will be offered on September 27, 2007, (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) and September 28, 2007, (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon). Participants will rotate through sessions that focus on user friendly teaching tools, low vision solutions, low tech solutions, accessing digital books, orientation and mobility skills and Braille.
The workshop will be held at the Best Western Governor’s Suites in Little Rock. Registration is limited to the first 50 people. Participants must register for the workshop and with the hotel for lodging prior to September 7, 2007. There is a $100.00 per person fee. The workshop announcement and registration form are attached.
