On July 9, 2007, the State Board of Education approved the following changes in the cut score(s) for the Praxis III performance assessment. Effective fall 2007 a passing score for the Praxis III assessment will consist of two components: (1) an overall score of 45 on the 19 Assessment Criteria, AND (2) a minimum score in each of the four domains. The minimum score in Domains A, B and C is 10.0 and the minimum score in Domain D is 8.0. Therefore it is possible for a candidate to score 45 or more, and not pass the assessment, if one of the Domain minimum scores is not met.
Novice teachers who took, but did not pass the Praxis III assessment during the ‘06–‘07 school year will be reassessed using the scoring system that was in place in ‘06-‘07 (passing score of 40). As of fall 2007 all other test-takers must meet the new Arkansas PRAXIS III scoring requirements.
