The Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will host the 3rd Annual Conference: “Winning Against Childhood Obesity: Implementing School-based Environmental and Policy Changes to Reduce Childhood Obesity” on October 1, 2007. The conference will take place at the Arkansas 4-H Center in Ferndale, Arkansas, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
School administrators, nurses, food service managers, PE/PA teachers/coaches, wellness committee members, parents, and agency representatives are encouraged to attend.
The conference will provide an overview of Arkansas pioneer efforts to reduce childhood obesity. Dynamic speakers will highlight national and state initiatives to improve child health. Participants will attend professional development workshops focusing on strengthening school wellness policies and programs.
