A Distance Learning Workshop will be held on THURSDAY, December 6, 2007. The three-hour Workshop will include two topics: “Teaming for a Healthy School Environment” and the NEW Ordering System for the Department of Defense (DOD) Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. The program will be offered from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
The “Healthy School Environment” portion will include ideas for building an effective team to promote a positive healthy school environment. Sheila Brown and Laura McDowell (Office of Coordinated School Health, ADE) will share information on how to build an effective team to achieve a common goal, in this case an efficient and effective wellness committee working toward a healthy school environment for all school children. This workshop will be beneficial for Child Nutrition Directors and Managers as well as members of the local wellness committee.
The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Ordering portion of the program will be presented by staff from the Commodity Distribution Office.
