As Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, George Washington led the nation to independence. As President of the Constitutional Convention, Washington presided over the creation of a new instrument of government. And, as the first President of the United States, Washington led the country through the early, turbulent years of nationhood. George Washington’s leadership, character, and civic responsibility remain examples to follow today.

Now, schools can celebrate Washington’s character, leadership, and accomplishments by hanging a beautifully-framed replica of Rembrandt Peale’s PORTHOLE PORTRAIT OF GEORGE WASHINGTON. The limited-edition portrait is specially sized (30” x 36”) to be given a place of honor in a school’s central office, library, or auditorium. Accompanying the portrait will be a George Washington Celebration Kit with suggested activities to commemorate the dedication of the portrait, as well as suggested lesson plans for classroom use.
To receive this FREE limited-edition portrait, please send a letter on school letterhead from the principal to the address listed below, specifically noting 1) the space where the portrait will be hung and 2) the school’s street address for UPS delivery.

Please send letters to the following address:
