The Easter Seals Arkansas Technology and Curriculum Access Center, in collaboration with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), will offer workshops on the topic of Parental Involvement - A Variety of Perspectives from Parents and Teachers of Children with Disabilities. This workshop will be offered on the following dates and locations:

The workshop is intended for special education teachers, related services providers, paraprofessionals and administrators. It is designed to assist staff in enhancing parental involvement in the schools and classrooms. Participants will view aspects of parental involvement from the perspective of teachers, parents and administrators. Workshop topics include increasing sensitivity to parental issues, things every family should know, reinforcing understanding of parent and student rights under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and finding materials and resources to educate professionals. The workshop format is cooperative learning and demonstration. Seating is limited. Participants will receive three (3) hours of parental involvement professional development at the end of the workshop. Cost of the workshop is $50.00 per participant.
