Special Show 2008, sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit, will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center on July 23, 24, and 25, 2008. This conference is held every other year and has grown to be one of the largest education conferences in the state and region.

The theme for the Conference this year is “The Future is Now.” Opening the program will be Dr. Ken James, Arkansas Commissioner of Education; Marcia Harding, Associate Director, Special Education; Dr. Mabrey Whetstone, Director of Special Education from the State of Alabama and the current president of the National Association of State Directors of Special Education. Roger Crawford, a nationally recognized motivational speaker, will present the closing address at the brunch on Friday, July 25th.

For the first time in the history of Special Show, participants can register on-line by using a credit card for payment of the registration fee. To access the on-line registration, enter, click on Conventions and Meetings, then click on the Special Show logo. Submit the completed on-line registration information directly to the Hot Springs Convention Bureau. For those who choose not to use the on-line feature to register, it is also possible to register and to pay the registration fee with a personal/business check by printing the registration form, completing the information, and mailing this with a check to the address shown on the form.

The registration fee for both on-line and regular registration includes four (4) meal functions and is $105.00, if paid before July 11, 2008. The registration fee after that date will be $125.00. Purchase orders will not be accepted for participant registration. On-site registration, with check or cash, will be available.
