As required by Section 3122(a) of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001, the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has developed Annual Measureable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs). The AMAO progress and attainment targets for the 2006-2007 through 2013-2014 school years are outlined in the attachment.

These standards will apply to the results of the English Language Development Assessment beginning with the spring 2007 administration. All local education agencies that have students identified as limited English proficient (LEP) and are receiving Title III funds will be evaluated based on the performance of LEP students in relationship to these AMAO targets.
