In striving to meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements, the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has focused on 100% Highly Qualified Teachers (HQT) and equitable distribution of experienced teachers in districts throughout the state. Using Teachers-Teachers.com, Arkansas districts have enjoyed access to a robust national recruitment tool for posting jobs and searching the database of over 500,000 education candidates.
Since 2004, ADE has fully funded Teachers-Teachers.com statewide. Unfortunately, ADE is unable to continue this level of funding at this time. However, Teachers-Teachers.com can be an instrumental component to the recruitment process. Therefore, ADE is willing to partner with school districts that are willing and able to fund some of the service themselves.
ADE is committed to assisting interested school districts by providing up to 50% of the funding to implement Teachers-Teachers.com. School districts that choose to utilize the service would therefore only pay 50% of the cost.
The cost per district will vary depending on the number of schools in the district. For the period October 1, 2008, to September 30, 2009, it could range from $500-$3,000. Questions about the service and the exact district cost can be directed to Ms. Cammy Jones (Teachers-Teachers.com representative for Arkansas) at 877-812-4071 (ext. 76) or cjones@teachers-teachers.com.
Other questions regarding Teachers-Teachers.com can be directed to the ADE Office of Teacher Quality at 501-682-5535.
