The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), Special Education Unit and the Technology and Curriculum Access Center, Easter Seals Arkansas announce a collaborative professional development opportunity on June 2, June 9, June 11 and July 7, 2008, at the Outpatient Services Building at Easter Seals Arkansas from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm. This workshop is titled CIAO: Collaboration, Improved Accountability & Outcomes and uses the Arkansas Department of Education Closing the Achievement Gap model to examine, explore and improve teamwork, data collection and improved use of research-based interventions to improve educational outcomes. This workshop is intended for administrators, general and special education interventionists, general education teachers and staff responsible for data analysis and curriculum supervision for the school teams. The training is a mixture of large group discussion, laptop use, case study and small group work formats. The registration is limited to 30 participants per session. Participants should have an intermediate to advanced level of computer skills to gain the most from this workshop. Lunch will be provided on site. Presenters will be Bryan Ayres, Director and Susie Branon, Education Consultant at the Technology and Curriculum Access Center.
